La segunda temporada de STAR TREK se centra en los años en los cuales el Capitán Christopher Pike comandó la U.S.S Enterprise. La serie está protagonizada por el Capitan Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romjin como Número Uno, Ethan Peck como el oficial Spock, entre otros.
Esta nueva entrega STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS está producida por CBS Studios, Secret Hideout y Roddenberry Entertainment. Akiva Goldsman y Henry Alonso Myers actúan como co-showrunners. Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Jenny Lumet, Henry Alonso Myers, Aaron Biers, Heather Kadin, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry y Trevor Roth ofician como productores ejecutivos.
Además, incluye el previamente anunciado episodio especial, un crossover de live-action y animación junto a las estrellas de STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS” Tawny Newsome como el alférez Beckett Mariner y Jack Quaid como el alférez Brad Boiler, uniéndose al U.S.S Enterprise.
